Public Health Libraries (John Loonsk) - 10 min.

    • The MedMorph and eCR project teams have identified a number of similarities between the 2 IGs that could warrant sharing of components components
    • HL7 typically discourages cross-linking between IGs – a “brittle chain” that could disrupt one IG unintentionally when other is updated
    • Similar to VR Common Profiles Library, there could be use cases for broader common PH libraries
    • Similarities in approach with US Core were noted – a common PH library would supplement US Core, not override it
    • A project proposal may be in the works – would provide exposure to other WGs to get preliminary input
    • Will add to agenda for Jan. WGM for further discussion then, though we don’t necessarily have to wait until then for any next steps
