Question

How is metastatic recurrence captured?

Answer

In terms of mCODE, a metastatic recurrence implies there is a secondary cancer condition and a cancer disease status with the term “recurrence”. However, mCODE currently does not capture it exactly like this for cancer disease status. Specifying “recurrence” would be a new enhancement for a new term on cancer disease status as a response to treatment.
