3b. Project Need

This ODH DAM will be an update from the ODH information model published in JAMIA, based on lessons learned to date. Once the model is updated the ODH interoperability specifications in V2, CCDA, and FHIR will also be updated. We will similarly continue to align this DAM and other ODH products with the employment-related sections of the Military Service History and Status IG, which is in ballot reconciliation. Elements that will be in the DAM have already been submitted to USCDI; Job Occupation and Job Industry were in the draft V3 USCDI and the others are at Level 2 or level 1. Any additional ODH data elements added to the DAM and IGs in the future will also be submitted for inclusion in USCDI as appropriate.

Model occupational data for health (ODH) and express use cases for it.

3b. Project Need

ODH describes data elements that are useful to support patient care, population health, and public health. Version 1 is being published in JAMIA but we anticipate changes as we pilot test it's use. In addition, we need to concisely described the wide variety of use cases for ODH to support testing and use of the ODH interoperability templates. We will be requesting that key ODH data elements are included in future versions of USCDI.
