  • Since the Sept. 2019 WGM is in Atlanta (home of CDC), the Education committee is soliciting interest to lead some "PH on FHIR" Tutorial topics
  • Also possibility of subsequent webinars if sufficient interest
  • Notify Virginia and / or Sadhana Alangar "pretty soon" (exact deadline is still TBD) if interested in leading any such Tutorials at the Sept. WGM and what time slots would be best
  • Opportunity to solicit other folks in the Atlanta area to attend the WGM and these Tutorial sessions

  • IG balloted as R3 in Sept. 2018 cycle
  • Updated version of the IG is now available on a MITRE-hosted website ( – hasn't gone to HL7 publication yet
  • Question about "Related Subject" (household member other than the patient who's work history is being reported) – this is currently constrained to a relationship role (e.g., "brother"); while there can be multiple instances of the same relationship role (e.g., multiple "brothers"), the IG does not currently support a way to distinguish between them / track them separately
  • Question about adopting R4 – R4 wasn't available at the time this IG was authored / balloted, and no ballot comments were submitted specifically about adopting R4; Erin e-mailed Austin to ask what the recommended process is in this scenario (e.g., publish as-is, then follow the update process...?)
  • Concern about the "effectivePeriod" attribute of the "UsualWork" profile – this should really be "effectiveDateTime" with no end date explicitly captured (there is already a "component" attribute in the profile for "UsualOccupationDuration") to harmonize with V2 IG; this change can be included as part of a modified disposition to an existing ballot comment
