Updates:

MnM Dissolution/Merger with FHIR-I TSC Consideration of the Request

Last week TSC to take up the request to merge MnM with FHIR-I, dissolve MnM, and update the FHIR-I Mission and Charter to cover FHIR Methodology

▪ TSC members were asked to consider the comments submitted by work groups as part of the Work Group vote before casting their own votes on “merger” of MnM with FHIR-I

▪ After considerable discussion (including about the work group comments), the TSC voted to approve the merger request - This includes the dissolution of MnM, and the updated Mission and Charter for FHIR-I - Please see the TSC minutes for that discussion https://confluence.hl7.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=144972394

 ▪ At this point, there is no work group directly responsible for Version 3 Methodology - If substantial questions about V3 methodology arise, the TSC would need to convene a group of remaining V3 experts to address such questions

Reviewed update.

#6  APM & VBP

Alternative Payment Models and Value Based Purchasing

Could not verify if 8020 supports VBP on the call.  Claims support the use of diagnosis codes and procedure codes that are used in VBP.  Additional information can be accommodated in a claim as necessary.

#7  Implementation Time Frame

  •  Two year implementation time frame depends on the scope and impact of the update.  Industry will comment on implementation timeframe once the regulations is published.  CMS should provide incentives or enforcement actions if timeframe is not met.
  • June or July would be better implementation dates.
