This implementation guide is currently being widely implemented/adopted. This IG is being used for COVID-19 reporting in conjunction with the eCR Now FHIR app and needs to stay current.

The request to extend this STU is because release 1.1 was implemented rapidly by EHRs during COVID-19 pandemic response. We anticipate implementation of the newest release (release 3.1 published July 20, 2022) will be started by vendors as they make product updates. To note, release 2.0 was published in Jan 2020 and was not implemented. Lessons learned from implementations of Release 1.1 were incorporated into the balloted version of Release 3.0, and the recent 3.1 release.
