The new structure resolves a number of issues. All below directly involve the new structure.

Proposed Resolution

Change CoveragePlan profile from using a List resource to InsurancePlan

Persuasive with Mod

New Structure using InsurancePlan profiles (one for payer insurance plan and one for formulary)

Create a resource profile to link a drug with a formulary plan

Persuasive with Mod

New Structure creating FormularyItem profile on basic representing line items on a formulary including non-drug attributes moved from FormularyDrug to FormularyItem.

FormularyDrug profile can only reference one plan

Duplicate (FHIR-30923)

Matching QHP Formulary: per-plan information on a Formulary Drug should be 1..*

Persuasive with Mod

New Structure, change CoveragePlan List to InsurancePlan profile. creating FormularyItem profile on basic representing line items on a formulary enabling linking multiple formulary drugs with multiple insurance plans through multiple FormularyItems pointing to a formulary Insurance Plan.

Create a profile to represent subscribable Insurance plan

Persuasive with Mod

Add Payer Insurance Plan profile on InsurancePlan with an extension pointing the Formulary profile on InsurancePlan in an extension under coverage. Include cost sharing under plan

Not Possible to Query by CoveragePlanID or CoveragePlanType, or all CoveragePlans

Persuasive with Mod

New Structure using InsurancePlan profiles with search parameters on identifier, plan type, and coverage formulary

Change name of EmailPlanContact field to "SupportContact"

Not Persuasive with Mod

New structure, use Contact structure native to InsurancePlan

MS Flag on List.identifier is missing, and cardinality probably wrong

Persuasive with Mod

New structure. Requiring identifier, linking between resources can also now be handled through FHIR resource references.

Create Endpoint Profile for an InsurancePlan for more information

Not Persuasive (use contact)

Use instead of adding a new profile

  • Block Vote 2:

Improve drug searching ability

Persuasive with Mod

Make MedicationKnowledge.doseForm MS and add SHOULD dose-form search parameter

Change binding to RxNorm to extensible to accommodate new drugs

Not Persuasive
