Formulary: Corey Spears Review Write up of Searching by Drug Names

25min

Discussion Update from past weeks.

See recommended Language here: Formulary - Searching  DrugName.docx

Relevant tickets: FHIR-32958 and FHIR-32959

Reviewed, good discussion on adding examples, how contains is very important.

Rob has mentioned that RxNorm is looking into updating their search (many at a higher level) and it sounds like there is support for that.

It should be a contains.

Paul Knapp to Everyone

Suggest adding: Formulary searchs may be restricted to just the drugs supported by the payor therefore it is up to the user or calling application to convert patient searching requirements for branded or equivalent drugs into one or more formulary searches.

This will be added into 1.1.0 of the IG as likely the first items.
