STATUS Notes from last call "HTA will notify implementer community of the registration of CDC Race and Ethnicity as an external code system (Carol will create the page and post to Zulip), stating that it has been implemented in US Core and VSAC using a urn formated uri, which is HTA's recommendation with regards to THO alignment. If there is no significant implementer pushback, the HTA page will be considered approved and Jessica Bota will proceed from a UTG perspective to update THO with a technical correction." Topic	Versioning of Resources vs. Code System	New		In THO, external code system versions are not being represented The CodeSystem.version element is currently the version of the resource (i.e. stub) Stub should display current code system version (not the stub) There is general agreement that there should be two elements for version - one for code system and one for resource Discussed potential new Jira ticket to re-state this issue #1 There are lot of version identifiers not in sync with code system content and need to think about what we mean when there is more than one version for these sitting around (http://build.fhir.org/codesystem-definitions.html#CodeSystem.version) Version should be current version from author If we don't have a version, we don't need to populate it Create policy that we try and keep them up to date with the CodeSystem.version #2 Consider putting in an extension for code system content versions to include a list of previous versions #3 Create code system metadata resource for stubs? Could also consider using provenance resource Rob to talk to Jean about this problem For stubs, code system version should be that defined by the author and if unknown it should be blank It should not represent the resource version An additional discussion needs to be keeping things in sync with published versions of external content

The draft is located here: Validating and Requesting Identifiers for External Code Systems and Identifier Systems HTA members and observers are asked to review the drafted text, directly edit where changes are needed and use the comment functionality to ask additional questions. We will review again (and hopefully approve on the next HTA call, which will be at the WGM).
