Common Vital Records (birth) IG (Sarah Gaunt) - 10 min

Sarah walked through the common data elements between Birth Death Reporting and Birth and Fetal Death Reporting IGs:

  • both implementation guides are FHIR R4 IGs
  • many data elements overlap
  • a possible approach would be to create an implementation guide (to be referenced by both IGs - and any other IG  that includes VR data elements) that contained and described all the common elements
  • Will need to sort out administrative/maintenance processes - e.g. who works on it, what is the maintenance cycle, etc.
  • No objection were raised
