  • Review remaining comments
    • CCHD/EHDI UDI usage
      • Comments (12 in CCHD and 13 and EHDI) from Behnaz Minaei/Marti Velezis
        • OBX-18 is used to indicate the device which was used during screening
        • Previous versions did not include descriptions of sending the Unique Device Identifier (UDI)
        • OBX-18 will be updated to include a description of how to send the UDI in an EI data type
          • Guidance will be consistent with UDI guidance in a balloted cross-paradigm document
          • The description will read:
            • This field contains the equipment instance responsible for the production of the observation. Different identifier types may be reported in this field including the Unique Device Identifier (UDI), brand/model, version, instance data, serial number or local name
          • The EI data type will be updated as follows:
            • EI.1 (Required) would be either the UDI or the model/brand (or serial number, etc)
            • EI.2 (Must be Supported) would be used to indicate the manufacturer if a non-UDI is sent in EI.1
            • EI.3 and EI.4 (Conditionally required if EI.1 is a UDI) would be used to send the UDI OID (2.16.840.1.113883.3.3719) if the UDI is sent in EI.1
        • Motion to find Persuasive  (Craig Newman/Lura Daussat 21-0-0)
    • CCHD/EHDI Ack Choreography
      • Comments (8, 10 and 11 in CCHD and 8, 9, 11 and 12 in EHDI) from John Roberts about the acknowledgement choreography
        • The IG requires communication (accept) level acks but is silent on application level acks
        • MSH-15 must be AL and MSH-16 is required but can be any of the base values
        • The diagrams and examples align with this guidance
        • Motion to find Considered for Future (Craig Newman/Lura Daussat 21-0-0)
    • CCHD Observation Types
      • Comments (15 and 16) from Xidong Deng
        • Suggestion that some existing observations (perfusion index, signal quality, and pulse rate) are not widely captured or particularly helpful
        • Perfusion Index has been investigate but found to be helpful and likely won't be mentioned in the next set of guidelines
        • The original IG was drafted many years ago when perfusion index was of more interest
        • The IG indicates how to send these observations but doesn't require them in a given message
        • Motion to find persuasive with mod (Add text to indicate that not all observation types will be collected by all devices or in all scenarios, but the IG has provided guidance on how to exchange these observations to help guide trading partners if they decide these measurements are in scope  (Craig Newman/Lura Daussat 21-0-0)
MethodologyFHIR ticket 25173

JIRA 25173 Proposal February 2020.pptx

  • A JIRA ticket indicates that the search parameter for Immunization.occurrence (administration date) needs to be tweaked to account for the data type choice between dateTime and string
    • A string data type option was added to account for things like "last fall" or "sometime in 2010 or 2011"
  • Searching is really only useful for dateTime and not for string
  • Lloyd McKenzie has seen the proposed solution and is OK with it
  • Motion to find Persuasive and to update the base Immunization resource so that the search parameter is only for when the occurrence is a discrete dateTime  (Craig Newman/Danny Wise 16-0-0)
