The Vital Records Death Reporting V2 ballot reconciliation is complete.  The spreadsheet will be distributed to the work group today and will be asking for approval within the next few weeks.  They are waiting on LOINC codes before requesting publication.

The CDA and FHIR LTCF HAI ballot comment spreadsheets are complete and have been distributed to the listserv.  Approval for the spreadsheets is on the agenda for next week.

Next week's will be extended 30 minutes.  Lisa Nelson will provide an overview of the Gravity project and introduce the PSS at 5:00 EST

30 min4.  Common FHIR Reporting Framework - "Content" John Loonsk

As a follow up to last week's WG meeting and a session at the last WGM, Arun and John provided further information on the Common FHIR Reporting Framework-- see slides for details.  The draft functional elements of the framework were discussed.

Key Highlights:

  • The framework is a technical framework, payload is not the focus.
  • The framework should be a common solution to improve adoption and implementation beyond surveillance reporting
  • The framework will be harmonized with other FHIR activities (DaVinci)
  • The framework is being tested at connectathons
  • Triggering:
    • FHIR subscriptions along with querying may meet the need
    • CQL engines could be used for triggering and report creation but are proprietary and not included in the standard
  • Report Creation
    • Trust services can help with de-duplication
    • Need to advocate for trust services to be added to the core
    • Validation services do not exist for push but is needed for report creation
    • Need to advocate for push validation
  • Sending
    • It is common to send through and HIE or intermediary.  Messaging would allow for this.  This method is being tested at connectathons but there is still work to do to have a mature message resource.
  • Report Distribution Set up
    • FHIR IG's are addressing the what data but not the when, where and how.  Planned definitions would offer this.
