    Discussion

    • See notes from Comment 50 from Wed Q3
    • Need to choose a communication pathway
    • Should consider looking at workflow state
    • May need a task resource if using REST
    • Workflow Management communications patterns might also be helpful in evaluating which method might be most appropriate
    • Either way we need to decide which method to use and address accordingly
    • Should pick one of the patterns that you think most of the implementations would use
    • Can do messaging over REST, they are not exclusive alternatives
    • The Domain analysis model made it clear that there was a work flow, however the IG didn’t make it clear how that work flow would be achieved or the mechanism to achieve it
    • We will include information about the work flows and the mechanisms to achieve the workflows in the IG
    • Messaging and a RESTFul pattern with a workflow resource

Motion: AMS moves to accept as persuasive and will address the mechanisms achieve the desired workflow patterns in the IG.

    Discussion

Motion: AMS moves to persuasive with mod and we will revisit this discussion once we have selected the workflow, and we will a final decision at that time.

    Discussion

    • The use of the implementation bundles doesn’t make sense. A referral outcome can be related using proper resources, there is no need to create artificial artifacts.
    • A request points to a bundle, which includes slices to other bundles
    • The reference that you use in the request is called supportingInformation. In the general resource is a single reference to a bundle
    • If you have a profile on the request you can limit that transfer to the list of observations that are a part of the first bundle
    • But does what is modeled not actually work? This would work, but there is an easier way
    • If you don’t have a bundle how would you identify the type?
    • Revisit the bundle structure if there is a demonstrable efficiency gain in an alternative
    • As we enter trial use we will explore alternative of what works and doesn’t work and will correct defects as we find them.
    • The commenter would like to dispose the comment by the project team selecting the workflow and updating the documentation of the mechanism of the workflow appropriately.

Motion: AMS moves to accept as not persuasive with mod and we will revisit this discussion once we have selected the workflow, and we will a final decision at that time.

There is a workflow sub group of HIR-I that meets twice a week. Lloyd is our FHIR liaison. We could arrange for Lloyd to join one of our calls to discuss with us.
