FHIR – 40094: proposal to add ingredientSummary:text
- James: Recommended because it is hard to parse the labels that come in from, for example, USDA (come in as a text field).
- Decisions:
- Support addition of ingredientSummary.text.
- Suggested for the root level rather than backbone level.
- Indicate that it is a “textural summary of the ingredients in a product.” The idea of saying product label was considered and rejected.
- Add a comment also: If structured ingredient information is present, the ingredient summary should be consistent.
- String rather than a markdown.
- Comment providing these decisions was added to Jira ticket by Jean Duteau.
- D Nolen is assigned to make the change.
