Attendees

Approve Previous Minutes

  • Minutes to Prior Meeting on 2022-09-28 approved by General Consent.

Withdrawal Ballots

  • HL7 Version 3 Standard: Core Principles and Properties of Version 3 Models, Release 2 (CPP)
    • response to Frank Oemig negative ballot comment:
      • this is foundational to V3 models and there is no intent to develop any new V3 models, therefore this standard no longer needs to be ANSI normative.  It will still be available on the HL7 standards grid if people need to reference it for existing models.
  • HL7 Version 3 Standard: Data Types - Abstract Specification, Release 2 (ADT)
    • response to Frank Oemig negative ballot comment:
      • this is foundational to V3 models and there is no intent to develop any new V3 models, therefore this standard no longer needs to be ANSI normative.  The FHIR datatypes were informed by this document but is not dependent upon it.  This standard will still be available on the HL7 standards grid if people need to reference it for existing models.  Since it is identical to the ISO TC 215 and CEN TC 251 standards, it is also available via those two standards bodies if needed.
  • HL7 Version 3 Standard: Common Message Element Types, Release 3 (CMET)
    • response to Christopher Schaut negative ballot comment (also referenced by 9 other balloters):
      • We are unaware of the V3 CMETs being cited in regulation and the V3 specifications that have been implemented use their own flavors of the CMETs and do not use the latest UV CMETs.  Finally, HL7 is unable at this time to actively maintain any V3 models without significant cost and effort.
  • Motion to post the above dispositions on the HL7 Ballot Site: Lloyd/Ron: 3-0-0

Work Group Merger Update

  • TSC is making progress on approving the dissolution/merger of MnM Work Group into FHIR-I – need to work through the process outlined in the GOM.
  • see Modeling and Methodology Work Group Dissolution/Merge Request
  • v3 artifacts and methodology will be taken over by TSC – they are working on getting this approved.
