Supports the means to locate communities that hold patient-relevant health data and the translation of patient identifiers across communities holding the same patient’s data.

Provides a service to the Patient Demographics Consumer in finding a "best fit" list of possible patient identities that match the demographics information contained in the query parameters.

Patient Demographic Query for Mobile (PDQm) 

Defines a lightweight RESTful interface to a patient demographics supplier leveraging technologies readily available to mobile applications and lightweight browser-based applications.

Patient Identifier Cross-Reference (PIX)

Cross-references patient identifiers from multiple Patient Identifier Domains by transmitting patient identity information from an identity source to the Patient Identifier Cross-reference Manager, and providing the ability to access the list(s) of cross-referenced patient identifiers either via a query/ response or via an update notification.

Patient Identifier Cross-Reference for Mobile (PIXm)

Provides a transaction for mobile and lightweight browser-based applications to query a Patient Identifier Cross-reference Manager for a list of patient identifiers based on the patient identifier in a different domain and retrieve a patient’s cross-domain identifiers information into the application.

Patient Master Identity Registry

Supports the creation, updating, and deprecating of patient master identity information about a subject of care, as well as subscribing to changes to the patient master identity, using the HL7 FHIR standard resources and RESTful transactions.

Structured Data Capture PSS

This project involves updating the existing Structured Data Capture (SDC) Implementation Guide. Specific objectives include aligning the implementation guide with the forthcoming R4 version of FHIR; updating profiles to reflect the experience of early implementers; migrating the implementation guide from U.S.-specific to international in scope by relaxing the only requirement that makes the implementation guide U.S.-specific; encourage feedback from early and potential future adopters including EHR vendors, payors and clinical research organizations through consultation and Connectathons; and examine the feasibility and appropriateness of alignment with the SDC project managed by the IHE organization.

Structured Data Capture - Data Element Exchange  (STU2)

This implementation guide is a supplement to the base Structured Data Capture (SDC) implementation guide. It defines expectations for Data Element registries, as well as those systems that are responsible for the creation and maintenance of data elements within those registries. This capability is documented as a distinct implementation guide because the expectations for systems creating and maintaining data elements are higher than for those systems that are merely responsible for referencing data elements when creating forms or configuring their systems to support pre-population or auto-population.

Argonaut Questionnaire Implementation Guide

The goal of the Argonaut Questionnaire Project is to develop guidance to support the interchange of simple forms based on FHIR Version 3.0.1 and specifically the Questionnaire and QuestionnaireResponse resources. This implementation guide provides implementers with FHIR RESTful APIs and guidance to create, use, and share between organizations' standard assessment forms and the assessment responses. The requirements were developed and defined by the Argonaut Questionnaire project team and tested through pilot implementations, Argonaut virtual connectathons, and HL7 sponsored connectathons.

Order & Referral by Form (CH-ORF)

This Implementation Guide uses FHIR defined resources – Composition Resource, Questionnaire Resource, QuestionnaireResponse Resource, Patient Resource, Practitioner Resource, ServiceRequest Resource and Bundle from FHIR R4. For details on HL7 FHIR R4 see http://hl7.org/fhir/r4.

Provides an infrastructure for capturing, exchanging and using patient data within electronic health record (EHR) systems for clinical research, adverse event reporting and public health reporting. 

Mobile Retrieve Form for Data Capture (mRFD)

Provides a method for gathering data within a user’s current application to meet the requirements of an external system. mRFD supports RESTful retrieval of forms from a form source, display and completion of a form, and return of instance data from the display application to the source application.

Birth and Fetal Death Reporting Enhanced

Supports pre-population of data from electronic health record systems to electronic vital records systems for birth, fetal death and death reporting to meet Federal, state and local reporting requirements.

Vital Records Death Reporting

Defines a Retrieve Form for Data Capture (RFD) content profile that will specify derivation of source content from a medical summary document. by defining requirements for form filler content and form manager handling of the content.

Assessment Curation and Data Collection (ACDC)

Enables assessment developers and curators a means by which they can distribute assessment instruments to healthcare providers, supporting the exchange of assessment data in a standardized form using the HL7 FHIR Questionnaire resource.

Mobile Cross-Enterprise Document Data Element Extraction (mXDE)

Provides the means to access data elements extracted from shared structured documents. The profile enables the deployment of health data exchange infrastructures where fine-grained access to health data coexists and complements the sharing of coarse-grained documents and the fine-grained data elements they contain.

Query for Existing Data for Mobile (QEDm)

Supports queries for clinical data elements, including observations, allergy and intolerances, conditions, diagnostic results, medications, immunizations, procedures, encounters and provenance by making the information widely available to other systems within and across enterprises. It defines a transaction used to query a list of specific data elements, persisted as FHIR resources.

Mobile Aggregate Data Exchange (mADX)

Supports interoperable public health reporting of aggregate health data. These most typically take the form of routine reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly etc.) from a health facility to some administrative jurisdiction such as a health district, though there are numerous other use cases such as international reporting and community health worker reporting.

Mobile Alert Communication Management (mACM)

Provides the infrastructural components needed to send short, unstructured text alerts to human recipients and can record the outcomes of any human interactions upon receipt of the alert. The mACM Profile additionally allows for a feedback mechanism to determine the status of an alert through the use of alert statuses.

FHIR International Patient Summary (IPS)

The goal of this Implementation Guide is to specify how to represent in HL7 FHIR the International Patient Summary (IPS). An alternative representation as templated HL7 CDA R2 is also provided ( see the hl7.org site or the ART DECOR repository). The initial focus of the International Patient Summary (IPS) was the unplanned care across national borders. This specification can be used and be useful also in local applications and be supportive of planned care.

An International Patient Summary (IPS) document is an electronic health record extract containing essential healthcare information intended for use in the unscheduled, cross-border care scenario, comprising at least the required elements of the IPS dataset. The IPS dataset is a minimal and non-exhaustive patient summary dataset, specialty agnostic, condition-independent, but readily usable by clinicians for the cross-border unscheduled care of a patient.

Bidirectional Services eReferral (BSeR)

The Bidirectional Services eReferral (BSeR) FHIR implementation guide provides guidance for using the HL7 Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standard as an exchange format for clinical and non-clinical service requests. It is a collection of profiled FHIR resources designed for use in information exchanges supporting the placement of a service request by a referral initiating provider and the reporting of service delivery outcomes by a referral recipient provider.

Electronic Long-Term Services and Supports (eLTSS) Release 1 - US Realm

The electronic Long-Term Services and Supports (eLTSS) Implementation Guide (IG) is based on FHIR R4. It was developed to support exchange of data generated during the planning and provision of long-term services and supports and is currently scoped to data commonly found on LTSS service plans. Long-term services and supports (LTSS) are needed by millions of people, including children, adults and individuals over age 65, due to various disabling conditions and chronic illnesses. Long-term services are comprised of a diverse set of assistances designed to help with general care, activities of daily living (ADLs), and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) like eating, toileting, dressing, cooking, driving, managing money, etc. 

Pharmacist Care Plan Implementation Guide 

This document describes constraints on the Clinical Document Architecture Release 2 (CDA R2) header and body elements for the Pharmacist Care Plan, which are derived from requirements set forth by the Pharmacy Health Information Technology (HIT) Collaborative and the National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) WG10 Professional Pharmacy Services, vendors, and Health Level Seven (HL7) stakeholder workgroups.

Dynamic Care Planning (DCP)

Provides the structures and transactions for care planning, creating, updating and sharing Care Plans that meet the needs of many, such as providers, patients and payers.

Dynamic Care Team Management (DCTM)

Provides the means for sharing care team information about a patient’s care teams that meet the needs of many users, such as providers, patients and payers.

Reconciliation of Clinical Content and Care Providers (RECON)

Provides the ability to communicate lists of clinical data that were reconciled, when they were reconciled and who did the reconciliation using CDA® constructs and FHIR® Resource attributes.

Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM)

This template is for the one or two page user-oriented overview of an IHE Profile that is in Final Text, Trial Implementation or perhaps Public Comment.

Guideline Appropriate Ordering (GAO)

Supports communication of decision support guidance on whether or not an order is appropriate from EHR, hospital or departmental information systems,and enables receivers to validate that decision support was used to determine the appropriateness of those orders according to guidelines.

International Patient Summary (IPS)

Uses the HL7’s IPS Implementation Guides that realize the CEN EN 17269 IPS dataset. Additional options pertaining to occupational Data for health and section constrains for a complete IPS sections support are specified within this profile.

Paramedicine Care Summary (PCS)

Maps the FHIR and CDA options for transferring this information from the electronic patient care record to the receiving facility's system using a document sharing [PCC-1] transaction.

The Argonaut project Provider Directory guide is based upon the FHIR STU3 API and contains the foundation for a robust provider directory. It describes the use cases and search expectations for finding a practitioner or organization. It outlines the key data elements for any provider directory and basic query guidance.
