CONNECTATHON 2, a Virtual Event

The goals for this event are to:

  • Educate interested parties at CMS and within the health IT community about HL7 FHIR, FHIR implementation guides (IGs) and their real-world uses.

  • Support impacted stakeholders as they comply with the CMS and ONC interoperability rules.

  • Engage providers, payers, and partners to join the growing collaborative FHIR community and directly access associated free and open resources.

Please note: The purpose of a Connectathon event is to engage in testing of the FHIR specification and implementations. While the FHIR Community thrives on perpetual learning, this environment demands preparation to participate in technical discussions, code review, and testing of a reference implementation or your own FHIR-based system. It is expected that by registering for this event you have adequately prepared by reviewing the FHIR specification and any artifacts specified on the track page, attended all participant information sessions, and established a connection with your track through the Track Kick Off or other work sessions.

Participant Check List

  1. Register for the Connectathon before the July 1st Deadline.
  2. Review the Connectathon Track List below and visit Track Pages to learn more.
  3. Complete the HL7 Pre Connectathon Survey to designate which track you want to participate in.
  4. Attend the Participant Information Session on Thursday, July 8th at 4:00 PM ET.
  5. Read the Connectathon version of the FHIR Specification and the FHIR home page to become familiar with FHIR concepts.
  6. Attend your Track Kick Off Call in July!

  3. Schedule your track Kick Off Call (previously Track Orientation) between July 5 and July 17, 2021.
