Multi-stakeholder FHIR Initiatives Accelerate Adoption: Advancing Data InteroperabilityJoin us to learn how HL7 Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®) standards development is expanding to improve access to clinical and claim related data for all trading partners and in healthcare. The payer community is leading efforts to use FHIR to solve access, security and identity issues to maximize interoperability across the industry. Several multi-stakeholder initiatives formed to accelerate how FHIR can best be used to unlock data and make it readily available at the point of care to improve outcomes and remove time burdens for stakeholders. Two initiatives leveraging HL7 FHIR transports are, ONC FAST (FHIR AT SALE TASKFORCE) and the HL7 Da Vinci Project. Through this, consensus-based effort, these initiatives are creating essential use cases, guidelines, and implementation guides with the goal of removing barriers to FHIR scalability. This panel will discuss key components considered and being addressed, learnings, solutions/tools developed, how these initiatives coordinate, next steps and ways organizations and individuals can engage to help transform health data exchange.

Da Vinci Community Roundtable

--------------------------

The goal of the new Community Roundtable is to increase public awareness among payers, providers and vendors of the resources and progress coming out of Da Vinci’s efforts.

The 90-minute virtual sessions, which will be open to members and the public, will highlight how members leverage the Da Vinci use cases and IGs in action in workflow.

Typically, two or three organizations will showcase their work and answer audience questions, allowing for a vibrant discussion and fostering industry understanding of the Da Vinci work products and resulting market solutions. Sessions are anticipated to be recorded and available online for viewing after the event.

Jump Start Your 2022 Implementation Efforts

As we dive into the new year, join us for January’s Community Roundtable and receive key updates on Implementation Guide progress, education to help you prepare to respond to related rules and regulation, and hear from real-world implementers to aid your 2022 HL7 FHIR journey.

Learn how industry innovators Oregon Health & Science University, MultiCare Connected Care, Regence Health Plans and MCG are leveraging the available HL7 Da Vinci Project Implementation Guides to transform prior authorization, reduce burden and hear how the payer and providers interact as they collaborate to tackle problems, transform processes and improve care delivery. The implementation demonstrates how the HL7 Da Vinci Project is accelerating the adoption of HL7 FHIR as the standard to support and integrate value-based care (VBC) data exchange.

Virtual Product Demonstration Roundtable

MCG Associate Vice President of Technology and Interoperability, Rajesh Godavarthi, will showcase how MCG is incorporating our work (as an Associate Member of the HL7 Da Vinci Project) into our prior authorization automation solutions. With the HL7® FHIR® standard soon to become a foundational element in payer-provider communication, Mr. Godavarthi will showcase the benefits to both payers, providers, TPAs, and U.S. government agencies around reducing the burdens associated with prior authorization requests.

In addition, he will discuss how this new technology will help significantly reduce turnaround times associated with prior authorization which is key to supporting NCQA accreditation requirements.

WEDI Webinar | Prior Authorization Automation: A Provider’s Perspective on Implementation

This 1-hour webinar is a follow-up to an earlier presentation for WEDI, "Prior Authorization Automation Implementation: Where the Rubber Meets the Road" which was presented to WEDI on Sept. 21.

Rajesh and Anna will address critical challenges faced by healthcare organizations when implementing prior authorization automation using the HL7® Da Vinci Project FHIR® standard and other technologies from a provider’s perspective.

Learning Objectives:

  • Analyze the steps it takes to prepare a provider organization (hospital, health system, ACO, etc.) to implement changes of this magnitude
  • Explain how success is defined when dealing with payers who resist innovation
  • Examine the tactics required to implement the changes with multiple partners (payers, EHR vendors, ACOs)
  • Evaluate where organizations begin the process and how they can plan incremental updates to support long-term success
