Orientation Recording here

Note Discussion starting at 15:13 around the need for Client applications to map code systems to reference medications (claims has NDC and Formulary has RXNorm codes).  If there are consumer apps out there attending the Connectathon that want to sync on this, we may have a breakout session during the event.  Please reach out to the track leads and let us know interest!

Discussion:

  • Connectathon - we have data across all 4 IGs synthetic data for about 20 patients across CARIN, PDex, Plan Net, and Directory.
  • Talked about having a Da VInci Birds of Feather session during Connectathon to gather feedback on how directory can be used with bulk requests with PCDE and PDex.  The recent NPRM (see links below) drives toward bulk and right now PCDE and Pdex are based primarily on membermatch. Viet Nguyen Vanessa Candelora to explore this.
  • Discussion around the value of the test "real" data and what we'd done to create an environment with synthetic data across the 4 IGs but that having real world data is what will really help to drive the industry forward and shape these IGs in a meaningful way.
    • Ideally, we should have a synthetic Ecosystem to have patients that can go through the whole lifecycle that would help too.
    • How do we get folks to experience of mapping their data to FHIR?  Get real organizations trying to map real data with these IGs.
    • Come to Connectathons! Theya re not hypothetical, they are a real opportunity to test real world implementations and provide feedback for the industry.
    • PCDE - representation or "mapping" - Payers are looking at it and saying "we have the data differently, we can't map it/how do we map it?"
    • IG is based on synthetic data, so we want to hear from the real world community on how that data maps or options for the data maps.
    • Rob recommended to have a conversation with CMS to talk about a focus for Senior level folks to come to Connectathon and share feedback on Implementations of IGs.
    • Time and Money makes it challenging to fully contribute.  A Payer in attendance spoke up in agreement.
    • Ideas to promote in bogs, podcasts, etc. was mentioned in chat.
    • In Summary: Payers, Providers, Vendors - Speak up, come to Connectathon to test your real world implementations, tell your clients, we want to hear from them! Step up on how it impacts you so the standard moves from STU1 to a Normative, adopted, standard and we can improve healthcare!
  • Big focus for this Connectathon will be payer to payer.
