Ballot and Connectathon Schedule

IG Review
  • Notifications Implementation Guide: http://build.fhir.org/ig/HL7/davinci-alerts/branches/master/index.html
  • IG defines framework, and admit/discharge scenario is the first exemplar of the framework
  • Framework
    • Happy path described, but note to balloters included regarding error scenarios and what happens in those cases
    • Must Support defined for the IG - will be adding conformance language to GraphDefinition and MessageDefinition
  • Does the focus always have to be a single resource?
    • It can be one to many, but in the Admit/Discharge scenario it's a single resource
    • Could it be different types of resources - for example, Encounter or a Condition?
      • Possibly, need more guidance, but for now keeping it to a single
    • From framework perspective, preference would be for a single resource as focus, but from a business perspective would expect you could decide which resource it would be
    • Could provide different examples in the IG
  • Notification bundle examples aren't updated yet
    • No need to include message definition in the bundle
    • Planning to pull it out and make it external to the bundle
  • Terminology section will be added to the framework
  • Updates will be made to capability statements
  • IG is substantively complete right now, but will be cleaned up by Monday

Connectathon
  • Philadelphia Connectathon Hosted by Independence Blue Cross - December 11-12
  • CMS HL7 Connectathon - January 2020 - January 7-8, 2020
  • Patrick Haren/Cigna will participate in Notifications track
  • Planning to update Reference Implementation based on IG updates?
    • Yes
  • Same Connectathon Track Proposal from last Connectathon: 2019-09 Da Vinci Notification (aka Alerts)
    • Changed from Alerts to Notifications
    • Link to IG included
    • IG defining FHIR framework for sending unsolicited notifications to one or more actors including support for intermediaries
    • FHIR version R4
    • September track included 2 different scenarios, but this time around, focusing on FHIR Messaging
    • Scenarios
      • Admission (Scenarios 1-4)
      • Discharge (Scenario 5)
    • Will use different event codes per scenario
    • Will update based on updates made to IG
  • Potential bonus points for follow up search - need to flesh this out more
  • Test scripts will need to be updated
  • Eric Haas will be leading the track
  • HealthLX - Reference Implementation
  • Main goal: find out if bundle contains all the resources needed, or is too heavy
