Planned Agenda Topics

  • <Hold for hot topics from project team>
    • Kelly sent an invitation for a meeting with the original group of people who put this use case together. The intention is to keep people up-to-date with the projects going on.
  • Past Action Items 09/25
  • Engagement Update
    • Trial Matching - Documents
    • Ciitizen - emailed Ciitizen with a few options for partnership.
    • LUNGevity - meeting on October 8th
    • Updates on Flatiron?
      • Haven't heard back yet. However, they will be on the call next week.
    • Genentech/Roche are doing similar work and Mark has talked to them about using their matching service.
    • The Stand Up 2 Cancer grant was denied. However, the project and ACS CAN is looking for other funding. One option is "CEOs Against Cancer".
      • "CEOs Against Cancer" is where local CEOs come together and fundraise and host galas.
      • The St. Louis CEOs are very engaged and are CEOs of health systems. They plan to pitch the project to them.
      • This is important because Phase 2 will cost money and we need funding.
  • Phase 1 Update
    • Working on IRB approvals for UTSW (Phase 1B) and MITRE/Cancer Insights (Phase 1A)
      • Phase 1A - targeting submission for next Tuesday.
        • Salim is working on the informed consent document.
        • 3 main artifacts - study protocol, agreements, privacy certifications.
        • Sharon is drafting a 1-pager to share with patients and is planning to have it done on Tuesday.
      • Phase 1B - statistician looking at the protocol.
        • The MITRE statistician answered Brandi's questions. Salim to send Brandi his answers.
        • No elaborate statistical proposal is needed.
        • Will send the minimal eligibility criteria to and the patient's full record to and compare the results.
        • For each patient compare:
          • The trials matched with the 7 eligibility criteria
          • The trials matched with the full eligibility criteria
        • Will get a feel if these eligibility criteria are enough.
        • Not every eligibility criteria is in (lab values, other health conditions, etc.)
          • There will be another step after the patient data is sent to to see if there are matches
        • Some information needed for clinical trial eligibility criteria will not be in the health record.
        • It would be helpful to walk through the process before we get IRB approval. Could use a synthetic record and write up the protocol.
        • Touch base with Elly offline.
    • Massive Bio - received confirmation on opening data and will create mCODE records next week.
    • Elly is working on accessing UCSF de-identified database.
      • Elly confirmed her UCSF affiliate status gives her access to the data, working through certifications.
    • Annotating more trials for TrialScope.
    • Implementation guide nearing completion.
