Antitrust Statement
Professional Associations, such as HL7, which bring together competing entities are subject to strict
scrutiny under applicable antitrust laws. HL7 recognizes that the antitrust laws were enacted to promote
fairness in competition and, as such, supports laws against monopoly and restraints of trade and their
enforcement. Each individual participating in HL7 meetings and conferences, regardless of venue, is
responsible for knowing the contents of and adhering to the HL7 Antitrust Policy as stated in §05.01 of
the Governance and Operations Manual (GOM).
NOTE: This attendance applies if you are present at the related meeting/call, regardless if you have signed a different attendance for your WG.

Announcements | Adapting Clinical Guidelines for the Digital Age Publication Series | I am excited to announce the publication of a series of articles related to the Adapting Clinical Guidelines for the Digital Age initiative. This supplement includes a CDC leadership commentary from Dr. Rebecca Bunnell; an overview of the initiative (including how all the different standards, processes, and tools work together); a new integrated process for co-developing written and computable guidelines; an evaluation framework for the integrated process; and an adapted Kaizen method for complex, multiorganizational process redesign. These are all open access, so please feel free to share widely with anyone who may be interested in any or all of these articles. I will also mention that the primary standard that developed from this initiative, FHIR® Clinical Guidelines or “CPG-on-FHIR®,” is referenced within these articles and is planned to be balloted at Health Level 7 (HL7®) in January 2024 as part of its continued maturation as an international health data standard. The balloting process includes an open comment period, and anyone can submit comments (there are different processes based on whether you or your organization are HL7® members). Thank you to all who participated in the Adapting Clinical Guidelines for the Digital Age and contributed to this work, especially to those who put in the extra effort in authoring these articles!
